The main goal of the Thamil Cultural Society of British Columbia is to preserve and propagate the Tamil language and culture to all those who are interested. While preserving the language and culture, it aims to integrate well with the multicultural Canadian environment and become well recognized Tamil-Canadians. To achieve this goal, a Tamil School was started in 1994 at Vancouver and named as Vancouver Tamil School. It is conducted by voluntary teachers. It has grown from a student strength of 14 in 1994 to about 45 registered students now, in Vancouver Tamil School alone. Mr. Sivabalasingham was volunteering as Principal of Vancouver Tamil School from its inception until 2006. From 2006 to December 2011, Mrs. Parameswari Pararajasingham was volunteering as the Vancouver Tamil School Principal.
